Play Backgammon

🎲 Backgammon (in Persian تخته نرد "tachteh nard") is the game of life

Backgammon is one of oldest board games in history, dating back almost 5,000 years to Mesopotamia, now modern day Iran.

Persians say that the board is our life and the dice are our fate.

  • The checkers have two colors (back and white) representing night and day. And the thirty checkers represent the days of the month.

  • On each side of the board there are 12 fields, representing the months of the year. The quadrants on the board represent the four seasons.

  • Backgammon teaches us that not everything will work out and that it’s okay. Not everything is in our power. We can’t always only roll double six.

  • It also teaches that life means community. If you leave a checker alone it is vulnerable. We are stronger when we are together.

Play backgammon and remember… As in life, we try our best and hope for the optimal result.

We can’t control everything. Some things depend on luck, the environment and factors beyond your control.
