Kind Not Right

A short lesson on kindness …

There once was a boy who lived with his grandparents. One day, the boy heard an anti-smoking commercial on the radio.

"One puff of a cigarette takes 2 minutes off your life..." the reporter said. The young boy sat down and calculated.

Excited, he went to his grandmother, who was a chain smoker. He told her that, according to his calculations, she had taken 12 years off her life by smoking.

The boy expected praise for his clever calculations. Instead, his grandmother burst into tears. The boy was puzzled.

Gently, his grandfather took him outside and gave him a lesson he’d remember for the rest of his life.

He said, "Son, one day you will understand that it's easier to be clever than it is to be kind."

Remember, It’s easier to be clever than it is to be kind.
